Gather the Scattered

Ukraine

Though Ukraine has fallen from the frontlines of American media, it has remained a primary issue in our nation’s politics. For a variety of reasons, debates constantly revolve around our nation’s financial support for Ukraine’s war efforts. By now, it seems as though every American has formed an opinion on this issue.

However, it is very important that we, as Christ-followers, separate our support for the Ukrainian churches from ongoing political debate. There is nothing to be debated when it comes to supporting gospel-centered Ukrainian churches providing essential spiritual and humanitarian support to millions of traumatized and displaced Ukrainian people. We are relationally and scripturally committed!

Recent conversations with Ukrainian pastors reveal that every church has very real concerns about the onset of the winter cold and providing for basic needs, especially considering the continued military strikes on their critical infrastructure. Now, imagine this: even with these exceptionally harsh realities, Ukrainian Baptist Churches have chosen to advance!

The Ukrainian church is demonstrating Christ’s love with everything they have, and God is drawing more people to himself for salvation than could have ever been imagined!  What is the result? More churches are needed, and more churches are being planted.  In the eyes of Ukrainian Christians, starting new churches is a critical way to multiply gospel presence, relief efforts, and evangelistic momentum.

With displaced Ukrainians finding new residences in every inhabitable nook and cranny of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Baptist Union has rallied a full-court evangelistic press with the aim of seeing as many churches planted as possible. Come winter or war, Ukrainian Christ-followers are working hard to gather the scattered into new church homes.

Regardless of news headlines, it is exciting to see your resolved support for Kingdom work in Ukraine! We are working to raise $100,000 to support our Ukrainian brothers and sisters in their church-planting work. As this Christmas season advances, we ask that you prayerfully make a financial gift to start and advance new Ukrainian churches.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
