Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief
“In September of 2017, Puerto Rico endured two of the most powerful hurricanes to ever hit the Caribbean. The hurricanes left no community on the island untouched. Devastation, tragedy, and heartache remained as the hurricanes departed. Through it all, the church remained united and committed to serving their communities.” (Praying Pelican Ministries)
In July, the Converge Heartland District announced an opportunity for youth, along with adult chaperones, to engage in a mission opportunity in Belize. Due to the horrific devastation left by Hurricane Irma and Maria, we will not be going to Belize, but are shifting our efforts to help bring hurricane relief to Puerto Rico.
In order to do this, we have partnered with Praying Pelican Ministries, a short-term and international missions organization that serves the needs of indigenous local churches, pastors and communities around the world. We will be working with Praying Pelican to come alongside the local churches in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Together, with our team’s unique gifts and talents, we will be able to address the needs of the local church and community in a tangible way.
