Death and taxes are two things that church budgets need to consider, especially when it comes to ministers.

In January 2020, the ten districts of Converge stacked hands and committed to starting 312 churches by the end of 2026. Converge Heartland committed to starting seven of those 312 churches, growing our district by more than ten percent. To date, we have launched two of those seven -- Gospel Life Church in Wichita, KS, and Arrows Church in Papillion, NE.

Converge is a movement that is relationally devoted to one another. These valuable relationships compel us to visit our church plants throughout the Heartland District. I am blessed to meet with the North Dakota planters throughout the year, and I also make an annual trek to see our other planters “Down South.” It is a joy for me to connect with them and hear about God’s kingdom work.

Since Covid, churches have been more careful about traveling. Missionaries who usually welcomed short-term teams have felt the effects of churches’ travel limitations.

It's difficult to put into just a few brief words everything that happens at our Converge Heartland high school week each year at Camp Judson. While the students and counselors enjoy a week of fun activities, engaging chapel talks, and powerful times of worship in the beautiful setting of the Black Hills, it's what God does in the hearts of young men and women each year that is truly special.

Converge Heartland Incarcerated Ministries continues to grow with the addition of John Morrison to our pastoral staff. John joins Harlan Moss and Greg Friesner in delivering the hope of the gospel to those who are incarcerated in our region.

With a matching grant of $10,000 from district-wide Ukraine Relief contributions to Converge Heartland, Converge Church in Omaha recently sent $22,800 to support the regional ministries and ministers of their sister church in Ananev, Ukraine!

In a landmark case on Friday, June 24, the Supreme Court voted 6-3 in the Dobbs v. Jackson decision to uphold a Mississippi law that banned most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
