Outreach Beyond the Holidays

Resurrection Sunday was a great celebration! Across our district, churches made sacrificial preparations and gave countless invitations. Along with dedicated Christ-followers, many others attended our district’s church services for the first time—or for the first time in a long while.

Of course, we long for the power of the gospel to take root in people from holiday service celebration efforts! Now that the climactic Easter services are complete, what does your church’s visitor follow-up look like? Better yet, what do your church’s outreach efforts look like when it’s not a holiday?

Converge Heartland wants to help your church with follow-up and outreach in two ways. First, we’d like to give you an aid for local outreach. Second, we’d like to facilitate stronger church cooperation when it comes to regional and global outreach. Here’s what to look out for…

Regarding local outreach, Converge Heartland has secured the services of MissionInsite. This cultural and demographic tool will help your church better understand and reach your local community. MissionInsite will give you an understanding of the issues facing your neighbors and relevant demographic insights on how to reach unchurched and de-churched people in your community. When our staff reaches out to your church office, we encourage you to engage in this local outreach tool, at no cost to you.

We praise God that our district churches have such a heart for regional and global missions that many give over 15 percent of their annual budget for supporting gospel-advancing efforts. This month, we are launching a project to gain an understanding of Converge Heartland church-missionary partnerships. To encourage meaningful church cooperation, we will be contacting your church and mission committee leader to get a pulse on who our district churches support or have sent and where those people are serving. We intend to develop and facilitate meaningful mission-outreach opportunities that fit our churches’ existing missionary partnerships.

Please be on the lookout for communication from Converge Heartland regarding these projects oriented toward the Great Commission.

He is risen indeed!
