I know that many of you have contributed to the IMPACT LIVES Food Packing Event that we had in Mitchell.
It was a GREAT success....exceedingly abundantly more than anyone imagined. The volunteers (almost 1200 people from 6 mos to 91 years old) had a blast. Almost everyone could do something towards feeding the starving in the world. We heard that in the part of the world (Dominican Republic/Haiti) where we are delivering these meals there are people mixing flour with dirt to fill their empty stomachs. I cannot imagine eating dirt to try and survive.
We originally planned to pack 286,000 meals and raised the $72,000 to cover the cost of the ingredients and shipping….praise God...HOWEVER...we packed 330,068 meals...that’s incredible! And because of this we needed to raise an additional $10,500 to cover the ingredients/shipping. Of that additional amount we have raised $8,000 and we have only $2504 left to raise.
