The 2017 Cultivate Conference is hosting a 9Marks Healthy Church Workshop! Our 9Marks Guest Speaker is Zach Schlegel who also serves as the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The Healthy Church Workshop covers the following areas:

Workshop 1: God’s Plan and the Church

Workshop 2: Preaching and Biblical Theology

Workshop 3: Gospel, Conversion and Evangelism

Workshop 4: Church Membership (Friday Evening Session)

Workshop 5: Church Discipline

Workshop 6: Discipleship and Leadership

The Cultivate Conference Workshop Schedule begins at 1PM on Friday, September 15th, and runs through noon on Saturday, September 16. The Converge Heartland Annual Meeting will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 to 11:30, followed by the District Pastors’ Luncheon, before the Cultivate Conference begins. The price of the conference is $75 per person. Conference registration includes the Healthy Church Workshop, an evening banquet and refreshments throughout. The Converge Heartland Annual Meeting and Pastors’ Luncheon are included for participating Converge Heartland pastors and church delegates.

Zach Schlegel grew up in Nebraska where he heard the gospel and saw it lived out among family members seeking to follow Jesus. After attending the University of Nebraska to study Mechanical Engineering, he moved to Chicago to go to Moody Theological Seminary. There, he met and married his wife Katie. They have two young boys, Hudson and Gavin. After serving as a pastor in Chicago for 4 years and Washington DC for 6 years, the Schlegel’s moved to Maryland where Zach currently serves as the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Upper Marlboro.
