What's happening in Converge Heartland

I understand and agree that numbers are not the major indicator of our spiritual health. While saying that, I also know that it is one means of putting our hands to the fire to see how hot the flames are burning. While not all the districts in BGC Converge Worldwide reported, of those that did we found that we had planted over 200 churches between 2000-2005. There was an average weekly attendance in 2007 of 154 people/church which impacted 22,847 individuals. In our church plants we baptized 1,916 in 2007. God is gracious to us. The fields are still golden ready for harvest. Pray for labors of the harvest.

The Lighthouse meets in old Army officer quarters that was put up for personnell when a dam was built. They have outgrown the building and need a larger area for worship. God has provided a church building that they purchased, but it needs to be moved . They are in the process of laying a foundation so they can move the building to their property. Another opportunity they are praying through is a church building in a nearby town which has been offered to them. Is this a place God wants to use for another church?

Jon said, "This fall we have added a youth ministry and outreach. Before, we didn't have youth, but because of a few more families coming, now we do, praise God! Also, we have started two small groups with the idea of meeting in homes and reaching out to the lost. One will be called "Be Joyful" and will be the 60's plus age group. The other will be young couples and singles and will be focused on "Marriage." One of the things we strongly believe in, is that in order to have a strong church we must have strong families. It all starts with strong marriages and Biblical training of our children.

Join a group of churches with a passion to glorify God by following the great commission and great commandment.

We are a group of churches with the following values:

  • We are Evangelical Christians, as opposed to evangelical, legalistic, fundamentalists.
  • We hold scripture as inerrant and inspired, but don't hold to one sole translation.
  • We do not deny the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but sign gifts are not the primary means of sharing or growing our faith.
  • Church planting is for the express purpose of reaching the unchurched.
  • Multiplication movement mindset
  • Freedom of vision while connected with others through teams and coaching accountability.
  • Always training others for ministry looking toward the next place God opens the door for a new church for his glory
